Meet Dr. Jason Spector, Founder and Director of Fesarius Therapeutics. Dr. Spector is an internationally recognized, board-certified plastic surgeon with over 140 peer-reviewed articles and six patents related to his research. He is the Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a Professor of Surgery and Otolaryngology at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, and Adjunct Professor at the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Dr. Spector is also the Director and Principal Investigator of the Laboratory for Bioregenerative Medicine and Surgery (LBMS) at Weill Cornell Medicine, which focuses on tissue engineering, wound healing, precision medicine, and the development of translational technologies from bench to bedside.
Dr. Spector has received funding for his research from the National Institutes of Health and other prominent granting agencies. In addition, he has mentored dozens of students and post-doctoral candidates and co-founded Fesarius Therapeutics and ProVis Medical, a medical device company. With his extensive knowledge and expertise, Dr. Spector is a true innovator in the field of plastic surgery and bioregenerative medicine.
He graduated with distinction from the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University with a B.A. in economics and obtained his medical degree (AOA) from New York University Medical Center. He trained in plastic surgery at NYU's Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship under Michael T. Longaker, M.D., as well as a clinical fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery (IRPS).
